Who We Are

Altar & Anvil is the work of Brad and Avalon, two makers whose different skills meet in a shared interest in craftsmanship, history, and the continuation of old ways.

Brad is a blacksmith and metalworker whose work is rooted in traditional forging techniques. He creates functional and ritual objects by hand, allowing the character of the iron, fire, and process to remain visible in each piece.

Avalon is a ceramic artist, writer, and researcher whose work draws from ancestral practice, archaeology, folklore, symbolism, and material culture. Her handbuilt ceramics are created as vessels and tools for ritual, offering, divination, and meaningful everyday use. Through Altar & Anvil Press, she also explores the knowledge and traditions that inform the objects they create.

Together, they bring clay and iron, research and craft, past and present into conversation, creating objects intended not simply to represent ancient traditions, but to become part of living practice again.
